User blog:Cavia porcellus/PvZ2 world idea: Spooky Salem!

From Plants vs. Zombies Wiki

I wanted to share my Plants vs. Zombies 2 world idea that I've had for some time after the game released. This is a project I'm still working on, and I may abandon or ask to delete this blog at any time. Also note that I will be using one of my plant ideas from the 'Gem Premium Plants' thread.

Notice: Any similarities to existing ideas and fanons, alive or discontinued is merely coincidental and should not be associated with plagiarism.

Any similarities with later released official content is also coincidental, but this page won't be edit according to it. If it happens, say, that Doom-shroom does get released, I will not remove it from this page.

World Characteristics

This world is the second night world in PvZ2, though the lawn is much darker than in Dark Ages. It's not literally just a black screen, but it is very dark.

In most levels at least the first column will be illuminated by planters hanged on the Player's House. Only special levels will have no lights, and only starting levels will have lights that illuminate more than 1-2 columns. (Thanks to IMCR8Z, who suggested this.)

The lawn will sometimes be illuminated by lightning, but the player will need to use Planterns in order to pass levels normally.

Lightning - the lawn modificator - has also a chance of striking a random lawn tile - if it strikes an empty one, the tile gets scorched and a zombie will rise from it. If it strikes a plant, it will automatically activate it's Plant Food effect.

The world gimmick for this world is Zombie Food. When zombies eat a plant, it has a chance of giving out Zombie Food, which is a Plant Food-like buff for the zombies. It exists so that it can counter the apparent overpoweredness of lightning.

This world has TWO world-specific Brain Busters: Hunting Season and ZomBotany. Hunting Season is similar to Powder Keg and ZomBotany is the expanded version from the original one.

World name: Spooky Salem

Alternative names: Darker Ages, A Midnight Hunt, Hunting Trip, Hunting Season, Midnight Quest

World description: The year's 1692, a very unlucky year if you happen to be a witch in Salem. Vicious zombie villagers are bloodthirsty for betraying witches, but they won't mind snacking on a few brains during the trip! Can your mystical plants save you from both fighting sides?

New Plants

Plantern

RANGE: 5x3 rectangle

RECHARGE: Mediocre

Planters light up a 5x3 rectangle around them.

Special: needs sun from time to time to keep shining

We were just as surprised as Plantern was when he started clearing darkness instead of fog. "I was really shocked, since I was clearing fog for entire life until then. But I can take this; I'm not scared at all. In fact, I'm happier now."

Plant Food upgrade

Illuminates the entire lawn for a limited time.

Scaredy-shroom

DAMAGE: Moderate

RANGE: 7 squares

RECHARGE: Mediocre

Scaredy-shrooms shoot spores from a long range, but hide when zombies approach them.

Special: hides when a zombie in its lane approaches it, protecting itself

"I've had enough of people calling me a scaredy-cat! I too can be useful! I'll show them I can be the bravest plant if I want to! Yeah, I'll rule them all! ...eek, a zombie!"

Plant Food upgrade

Becomes herioc and saves plants from various dangers for a period of time.

Beansock

DAMAGE: Varies

TOUGHNESS: Elevated

RECHARGE: Sluggish

Beansocks repel attacks from zombies and plants.

Special: returns projectiles, deflects lasers and neutralizes spells

Damage Details: depends on the projectile repelled

Projectile-returning windsocks? Check. Laser-diverting mirror? Check. Spell neutralizer? Check. Using advanced OP-2MCH technology, Beansock is up and ready for every possible thing those nasty zombies and plants throw at him. Because that's him. He's not giving in to any side.

Plant Food upgrade

Collects various projectiles on the screen, doubles their damage and then throws them at zombies.

Roto-shroom

DAMAGE: Moderate

RECHARGE: Fast

Special: can be moved around the lawn and around itself

Special: up to 8 Roto-shrooms can be planted in one space, shooting in 8 directions

Attack Details: attacking speed is very fast

Roto-shrooms are stackable mushrooms that can be moved around the lawn.

Ever since he was a young spore, Roto-shroom wanted to be the sailor of the skies, the greatest plane-plant there ever was. Sadly, he had to settle to being a copter... on the lawn.

Plant Food upgrade

Activates a sprinkler which sprays poisonous liquid in a 3x3 square, dealing extra damage. The effect lasts until the plant is eaten.

Raspfairy

DAMAGE: Heavy~Huge

RECHARGE: Sluggish

Raspfairies roll drupelets onto zombies, but disappear after all are rolled.

Special: always rolls at least one magical drupelet

Special: magical drupelets turn zombies into seed packets

Damage Details: larger drupelets deal more damage than smaller ones

Raspfairies roll drupelets onto zombies, but disappear after all are rolled.

Raspfairy really doesn't like fulfilling wishes. She's met a lot of greedy plants in her life and she's just tired of it. The only exceptions are baby plants and sick plants. Especially sick plants who don't get a lot of water and don't do photosynthesis a lot. They don't have a lot of time left. So, if you can, please donate to RaspfairyMakesWishesComeTrue.com to make our little plant buddies have a few happy days left...

Plant Food upgrade

Launches a giant magical drupelet, which, acting as a Bowling Bulb, will give a seed packet for every zombie it hits. It also refreshes itself, returning to its initial planting state.

Snowdrop

RANGE: front and back

RECHARGE: Sluggish

Special: rests a little after each puff

Snowdrops blow at zombies, pushing and slowing them at the same time.

Stare into her hidden eyes and you'll be staring in the face of death... a brain-freezing death.

Plant Food upgrade

Launches a giant ice crystal on the last space in the row, preventing zombies from spawning in the row for some time until the ice crystal melts.

Coffee Bean

RECHARGE: Sluggish

Usage: single use, instant

Special: can awake sleeping plants

Coffee Beans speed up the effects of plants by twice.

Coffee Bean sure does like his coffee. He wakes up in the morning, having slept for 1 hour, and has a cup of coffee before washing his teeth. Then he has breakfast, and of course, a cup of coffee. He goes out partying, drinking cocktail-coffees and eating coffee cake. And when he returns home he takes a shower in coffee, and before he goes to bed, he always has the one thing that will make him sleep tight - milk.

Garlic (Gem Premium plant)

RECHARGE: Mediocre

Usage: on contact

Special: diverts zombies into other lanes

Garlics divert zombies into other lanes.

"It's good that those zombies don't breathe," says Garlic. "'Cause if they could, they'd end in one nasty way... and the other plants too, come to think of it."

Plant Food upgrade

Creates a stinky 3x3 cloud that lasts for a short period of time. The cloud will repel all the zombies that come in contact with it, and the zombies that were in the 3x3 square before the effect took place die.

Fire effect lasts until it dies.

Regular black magic zombie.

Same as Villager Zombie's.

Shadow Zombie

Shadow Zombies move fast in the dark, but in the light they turn back into witches which put your plants to sleep.

Zombie Food upgrade

Disables all light producing plants on the lawn.

Old Hag Zombie

Old Hags are bulky zombies which occasionally fly over the lawn to prevent damage.

Zombie Food upgrade

Summons a Zombie Cat which claws at your plants at great speed.

Zombot Cloud Catcher

The sky owner from the cursed grounds.

To be added.

Trivia

ZomBotany

  • If the player gives a ZomBotany zombie Plant Food, the Plant Food of the plant will activate.
    • For example, if a Snapdragon Zombie is fed Plant Food, the Snapdragon manifest its effect on the zombies, just like a plant would.
  • This is a list of ZomBotany zombies that can appear in Plant Dunking Square and the Zomboss Battle:
    • Peashooter Zombie
    • Wall-nut Zombie
    • Repeater Zombie
    • Repeater Conehead
    • Repeater Buckethead
    • Iceberg Lettuce Zombie
    • Bonk Choy Zombie
    • Kernel-pult Zombie
    • Snapdragon Zombie
    • Lightning Reed Zombie
    • Tall-nut Zombie
    • Citron Zombie
    • Infi-nut Zombie
    • Puff-shroom Zombie
    • Guacodile Zombie
    • Hurrikale Zombie
    • Scaredy-shroom Zombie
    • Roto-shroom Zombie
    • Power Lily Zombie (generates Zombie Food if not killed in time)

Zomboss Battle

  • The battle starts with Dr. Zomboss flying in the sky and landing on the lawn on a turbo broom.
  • Zombot Sky Catcher is the only boss in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that occupies only one lane.
    • Therefore, the charge attack using its turbo broom clears out only one lane.
  • The special attack of Zombot Cloud Cather is summoning black cats which claw at your plants.
  • Like Magnet-shroom stuns Zombot Dark Dragon and Tangle Kelp stuns Zombot Sharktronic Sub, in Spooky Salem, a Snowdrop fed with Plant Food stuns Zombot Sky Catcher by breaking his broom with the ice crystal.
