Survival: Random Plant Box (Endless) (抽奖盒子无尽版; pinyin: Chōujiǎng Hé Zǐ Wújìn Bǎn) is the ninth level of Creativity Mode in Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition, being a mini-game, more specifically the third level themed on the popular Chinese mod 植物大战僵尸杂交版 (Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version). The level was made by the Hybrid Mod Team (杂交版团队).

As the name suggests, the level is endless and has infinite amount of waves and flags, coming in rounds. The player is given 14 seed packets pre-selected against a massive army of hybridized zombies. All of the seed packets are Random Plant Boxes, allowing the player to get and use different variety of plants to their preference.

2000 sun is given at the beginning of the level, and the sun that falls from the sky is double the size and value, giving 50 sun each.

The player can also watch ads or share an invitation code to plant special hybrid plants, once per ad/invitation, as well as to buy power-ups, those being: Extra Sun - gives a total of 500 sun instantly; Cooldown Reset - resets the seed packet recharge of every plant in your chosen seeds; Jalapeno Storm - plants a Jalapeno in every single tile of the lawn.

Origins

The level was done in collaboration with Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version, a popular Chinese mod created by 潜艇伟伟迷 (SubmarineWeiWeiPVZ) and his team.

Strategies

  • Begin by planting Random Plant Boxes at the far back in hopes for a good start-up.
  • In case your start-up was not ideal, you may keep planting in case it gets any better, or decide to restart for a better luck.
  • With that being said, keep every sun producer you get at all costs, as sun is not obtainable easily at all in here, considering the only source is the giant sun fallen from the sky from time to time.
  • It is recommended to keep Holo-Seed Projectors, as they decrease the sun costs of the Random Plant Boxes by 25 sun for every Holo-Seeds Projector planted on the lawn, which the said effect will go away in case it is shovelled or eaten.
  • Aim to construct the first column with tanky plants, such as Wall-nut variants, or even more recommended, Fire Pumpkins or Gloom Pumpkins which will allow more plants to be planted inside them. This is in order to prevent Tenebrous Football Digger Zombies in later waves/flags from destroying your defense from behind in case they succeed to reach the last column before spotted by a Crater-nut or Magnet-nut.
  • Keep tanky, obliterating and heavy hitter plants at all costs, recommended in the front (7th to 9th columns), such as Spikerock-nut, Tall-Ice-nut, Hot Dog Shooter, etc.
  • Keep your Doom Cannons safe, as they are pretty essential for the Gargantuar spam.
  • Keep aiming for strong long-range plants, more specifically for Winter Melon Fume-shroom in order to maximize the damage dealt, as Winter Melon Fume-shrooms can chill zombies, pierce through zombies, and launch a frozen melon towards his current target, making perfect for hordes management.
  • Keep aiming for Flower Pot variants, as you can plant more plants on them while also getting benefits, such as extra damage from Cat Litter Pots or even more essentially extra sun from Sun Flower Pots.
  • Keep aiming for Sun Beans, as they are efficient sun producers which you can plant on top of, as other sun producers other than Sun Flower Pots will need to be shovelled in order to improve the defense and maximize power.
  • Lastly, avoid fire plants such as Fire Pumpkins, Sunflower Queens, Torch-nuts, etc. and aim for chilling/freezing plants instead, in order to give yourself more time to fight against the lunatic zombie spams.
