Celebrating Spring Festival
- For the sequel of this Secret Realm, see Auspicious Snow Welcomes Spring.
Celebrating Spring Festival (欢度春节[1]; pinyin: Huāndù Chūnjié) is the fourth Secret Realm in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 and the prequel to the Auspicious Snow Welcomes Spring Secret Realm. It is a limited-time Secret Realm that was released with the v3.0.2 update on January 13rd, 2023 for Android devices and with the v3.0.3 update on January 18th, 2023 for iOS devices. It was active from January 16th, 2023 to February 5th, 2023.
This Secret Realm is themed after Spring Festival (commonly also known as Chinese New Year), featuring the lawn and the zombies of the Lunar Zoo Year event from the international version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, with two new special zombies, those being Money Tree Zombie and Nian Beast Zombie, with the latter serving as the elite zombie of this Secret Realm.
Aside from the two new special zombies, two new exclusive gimmicks also appear in this Secret Realm, those being the Snowball Raid (雪球袭击[1]) and the Kongming Lanterns (孔明灯[1]):
- Snowball Raid: Several giant snowballs are dropped on certain tiles of the lawn (which additionally knock any plants off the lawn on the tiles the snowballs land), with the purpose of diverting zombies to an adjacent lane upon getting into contact with a giant snowball. The giant snowballs can be melted down with fire attacks to decrease their size, which can firstly be decreased from giant to medium, then can be decreased from medium to small, and finally can be completely vanished if melted down on small size. The snowballs can be triggered by certain zombies that usually have properties of rushing at high speeds (such as All-Star Zombie), which upon triggering one, the snowball will start rolling down the lane, with each size of the snowballs having a different outcome. Giant snowball rolls down the entire lane ahead of it and knocks any plants down the lane off the lawn; Medium snowball rolls down its lane but will only knock off the first plant it encounters, after which it vanishes completely; Small snowball rolls down its lane but will only freeze the first plant it encounters completely, after which it vanishes completely.
- Kongming Lantern: Several floating kongming lanterns that begin from the left side of the lawn will cross certain distances on their lanes, which after completing their distance, they will fall down onto the tile and melt, burning the plant on the said tile and leaving a molten candle on that tile for a period of time which can not be planted on until the molten candle is gone. The floating kongming lanterns can be attacked by plants and destroy prior to their destined point of falling down, causing them to fall down in advanced without burning any plants nor leaving a molten candle on the tile they were destroyed.
Additionally, this Secret Realm featured two lawns, one being set during the day with a snowy environment, hence being the exclusive lawn in which the Snowball Raid gimmick were present, while the other one being set during the night in a lit environment, hence being the exclusive lawn in which the Kongming Lanterns gimmick were present. The night lawn also did not have any sun falling from the sky due to having a night environment, forcing the player to completely rely on their own sun production.
Levels
This Secret Realm featured a Normal Mode and a Hard Mode, which would allow the player to accumulate rewards from playing the levels and also collect lantern collectibles, with the Normal Mode levels giving 1 lantern for completing them and the Hard Mode levels giving up to 4 lanterns depending on how many of the assigned objectives the player fulfills for the level.
The levels of the Normal Mode would unlock ordinally one after another upon completing the levels, with the Hard Mode section unlocking only once all of the Normal Mode's levels were cleared, and the levels of the Hard Mode could be permanently unlocked by spending a spacetime key on the level the player wanted to unlock with each level requiring one spacetime key.

Rewards
Unlike the Secret Realms prior to this Secret Realm (that is, Fairy Forest and Haunting Halloween), this Secret Realm featured a different system of rewards, which instead of redeeming 3 collectibles for a reward, the player could redeem 1 collectible for a reward in the form of a battle pass, featuring both a free-to-play and a pay-to-win section, with the former allowing the player to collect their rewards as long as they had the designated amount of lantern collectibles required for the respective reward, while the latter allowing the player to collect more rewards from that section in a similar manner to the free-to-play section albeit with the requirement of purchasing the section with real-life currency.

Trivia
- This Secret Realm was released during the "Leap Year of the Rabbits", which is a year dedicated to the rabbit zodiac in the Chinese New Year calendars, hence the lawn of this Secret Realm featuring a sketching of a rabbit on the concrete right in front of the player's house.
