He almost became the town sheriff, but he turned it down, because he feels that sheriffs think that they're too good to go to the bar and drink.

Dual Pistol Pinecone (双枪松果) is a plant in Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, introduced in 2.3.4 update as a replacement for Rotten Red.

He shoots nuts at zombies in a straight line. After killing a zombie, he shoots a projectile that knocks back the next zombie.

Origins

A conifer cone

He is based on the conifer cone, also known as the pinecone. The first half of his name references the fact that he attacks with both arm pistols.

Strategies

With 60 damage per shot and an occasional knockback projectile, Dual Pistol Pinecone's abilities may sound good at first, but he’s severely outclassed by many plants who can do his job better.

While 60 damage may be a lot, his firing rate is quite slow. Furthermore, Primal Peashooter completely outclasses it since Primal Peashooter costs less and has a more consistent firing rate and knockback rate, along with a stunning effect.

If you do plan to use Dual Pistol Pinecone, use him on any level that doesn't have obstacles such as tombstones and weapon stands. Be careful of certain zombies such as Bass Zombie and Egg Pusher Imp, as they can make more obstacles that block Dual Pistol Pinecone's projectiles. Avoid using Dual Pistol Pinecone on levels with Excavator Zombies since he can't damage him.

Trivia

• If his projectiles are ignited by a Gene Enhancement-boosted Torchwood, he will not shoot his alternate projectile after killing a zombie, despite both projectiles being ignitable. This is likely an oversight with how the game does not account for Dual Pistol Pinecone shooting a different base projectile.
• His face is identical to Red Stinger's.
• Part of Wasabi Whip's Costumed Puzzle Piece sprite can be seen incorrectly layered behind Dual Pistol Pinecone's own Costumed Puzzle Piece.
• Despite being a pinecone, he looks more similar to an acorn.
• Prior to an unknown update, his shooting animation was glitched, causing the plant to shoot significantly slower than it should.
• His Plant Food ability, despite looking the part, does not deal fire damage.
