Twin Year of the Rabbits (双生卯兔; pinyin: Shuāng​shēng Mǎo​tù) is a melee plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the v3.0.2 update alongside Pea Pharmacist, Pike Hoya and the Celebrating Chinese New Year Secret Realm.

Twin Year of the Rabbits targets the first zombie down their lane but can't attack flying zombies or stationary zombies. One of the rabbits will burrow underground and shortly pop up in front of the targeted zombie to deal damage to it. If the zombie is a small-sized zombie it will be knocked off the lawn. Afterwards the rabbit will return to its original tile with the other rabbit and leave behind a pit. The pit only spawns if there are no plants, despawning over time or if a plant is placed. The pit can trap smaller zombies, but doesn't affect anything else.

Origins

Twin Year of the Rabbits are based on the Bunny succulent (Monilaria obconica), a plant in the Aizoaceae family that is named as such because of their resemblance to a cartoon rabbit.

When given Plant Food, Twin Year of the Rabbits will burrow underground and pop up repeatedly in the 3x3 area in front of it to attack with fireworks, prioritizing tiles with zombies in them.

If Twin Year of the Rabbits are costumed, the plant food ability affects a 5x5 area.

When the first rabbit attacks, the second causes knockback that sends applicable zmbies back by 2 tiles, dealing damage equivalent to 10% of the targets' maximum health. If the second hit misses, it is cancelled and the subsequent cooldown is halved. 攻击时2只兔子会一同钻入地下，在第一只兔子将僵尸顶飞后，第二只兔子跳出击退右侧的中小型僵尸2格并造成最大生命值10%的伤害。如果第二只兔子攻击时没有僵尸，则取消攻击并缩短50%的休息时间。

Trivia

• Both Twin Year of the Rabbits and Bun Chi were created to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit.
• If they attack a Walrus Zombie, they’ll duplicate him.
• Twin Year of the Rabbits are similar to Snap Pea with both being legendaries, costing 200 sun, can stun a zombie to then kill them or deals damage to it if they can't and they have a 10 second recharge.
• It’s possible for an invisible Bandit Zombie to be killed by their plant food effect, despite the fact that they’re unable to see him.
• If a zombie manages to escaped right as he is about to be launched, the zombie will become bugged.
