石榴在去图书馆偷看校花的时候无意中看了一本叫《论石榴的1000种吃法》的书，书的扉页上写着一句影响了他一生的话：无论如何吃，石榴籽都是要被吐掉的。后来他参了军，成了一名枪法奇烂的机枪手，又后来他退了伍，成了一名每天磕着瓜子晒晒太阳的房东。再后来？你没看到对面那个张开大嘴向你们乱喷口水的家伙吗？ When Machine Gun Pomegranate went to the library to peek at the school beauty he accidentally read a book entitled "1000 Ways to Eat Pomegranates", on the title page was a quote that changed his life, "No matter how you eat it, pomegranate seeds are always spit out." Then he joined the army, and became a machine gunner with oddly bad marksmanship. And then he discharged, and became a landlord who ate seeds and sunbathed every day. And then? Don't you see that guy over there who opened his mouth to spit at you?

Machine Gun Pomegranate (石榴机枪手; pinyin: Shíliú Jī Qiāngshǒu) was a premium plant in Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition. He was based on the Machine Gun Pomegranate from the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2.

He was a store-bought plant which could be purchased with 120 diamonds and couldn't be imitated.

Unlike his original counterpart, he fired seeds at zombies only down his lane, with a full range rather than limited range. These seeds dealt 20 damage per shot, but dealt more damage the closer zombies were to the plant himself. He would occassionally fire a barrage of seeds to the zombie closest to him (doesn't apply backwards) that dealt damage about half the health of a basic zombie.

Additionally, his regular seeds could also pop the balloon of Balloon Zombie.

Origins

Machine Gun Pomegranate was based on the plant of the same name in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, which is based on the fruit of the pomegranate (Punica granatum).

The second part was a reference to his original counterpart's Plant Food ability, which is similar to a machine gun, but his normal attack is more like a scattergun.

Strategy

Machine Gun Pomegranate's main perk is the fact that he deals damage the closer zombies are to him. This therefore means that placing him near the back of the lawn is key, to maximize the damage output while ensuring that no weaker zombies take the hits for the stronger ones like Bucketheads.

Another strategy to utilize Machine Gun Pomegranate's ability is to place him around the center column of the lawn while protecting him with Pumpkin, meaning that zombies on his tile will take large amounts of damage while dealing small amounts to the Pumpkin.

However, Machine Gun Pomegranate's main perk is also his downfall. As he requires zombies to be close to him to deal large damage, this leaves him vulnerable to swarms. As such, it is recommended to combine him with plants like Laser Bean, for taking out zombies from long-range, or Gloom-shroom, for also dishing out large damage at short range.

• Unlike his Plants vs. Zombies 2 counterpart, he did not use a gun while attacking.
• His appearance greatly resembled that of a pomegranate-like plant that was scrapped from the original Plants vs. Zombies.
• He shares the same Almanac description as his Plants vs. Zombies 2 counterpart.
• Unlike his Plants vs. Zombies 2 counterpart, whose Chinese name translates to "Machine Gun Pomegranate", his Chinese name translates to "Pomegranate Machine Gunner".
