Squash is a plant featured in Plants vs. Zombies 3. He jumps on the first zombie in front of him and squashes him, dealing heavy damage to it and all other zombies on its tile.
About
- For more information about this character, see Squash.
Squash is first introduced in Level 13, Camp making him the fourth plant the player can use in the game.
He costs 2 sun and, like in previous games, he attacks the first zombie that approaches and deals heavy damage to it, as well as damaging other zombies on the tile he is attacking.
Origins
Squash is based on the plant with the same name from the original Plants vs. Zombies, though his appearance is more influenced by his Plants vs. Zombies 2 design.
His Tacobility from the pre-2021 version was a pun on "gorgeous" and "gourd."

Prior to the 2021 re-release of Plants vs. Zombies 3, Squash was a Rare Trap plant obtained by the player after beating Floor 8 of Devour Tower. His seed packets were more likely to be dropped in Dave's Workshop breakout levels.
He costed 4 sun and he attacks the first zombie the approaches and deals heavy damage to it, and other zombies on its tile. It then disappears unless upgraded with a taco.
Despite the heavy amount of damage he dealt, he was ineffective at defeating Armored Zombies, as Squash would not be able to deal any damage to them directly, so long as they had armor to absorb all the damage.
Squash's Plant Food ability was named Spring Training, and allowed Squash will deal an immense amount of damage to any zombie in a 3x3 area in front of him. This was the only time Squash could deal damage to Armored Zombies directly when they still had their armor.
Squash's Tacobility was named Gourdgeous and allowed Squash to remain on the lawn after attacking, which means he could attack more than once. Squash also dealt more damage to zombies he attacked.

The best gift Squash ever got was a clock that had the word "Squash" instead of numbers, so it was always Squash O'Clock. It broke (he squashed it), but it's still right twice a day.
