The sharp and poisonous thorns can make it difficult for zombies to move. But no one knows that he's just more timid than his younger brother, Timid Thorn. He doesn't want to face the zombies and has to learn the spell to keep the zombies away from him.

Thorn Wizard (荆棘巫师; pinyin: Jīng​jí Wū​shī) is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 3.3.6 update alongside Electric Peel.

Thorn Wizard casts a spell once a zombie enters his lane, creating thorns around the zombie it hits. After each use, the plant will rest for 10 seconds. If the closest zombie is a flying zombie or is already entangled, Thorn Wizard will cast a lunging attack, dealing 40 damage.

Once a zombie is entangled, the thorns will halve their eating speed and poison them, making them take 10 damage per second. The thorns also block all other incoming zombies, similarly to Gumnut's gum, damaging any zombies that come in contact.

Plant Food effect

When fed Plant Food, Thorn Wizard will cast a thorn array, summoning 3 spiky large thorns on three tiles, on 4 spaces on tiles, penetrating zombies and dealing damage. Each large thorn can entangle zombies up to 2 times. The Plant Food effect will cause Thorn Wizard to enter his usual 10 second cooldown afterwards.

The number of large thorns is increased to 5.

• Thorn Wizard does not have a costumed render in the files for when his costume is unlocked from a chest. Instead, where one would usually be, there is simply a duplicate of his default render.
  • The same also applies to Heliconia Gunner.
