Goo Peashooter
- For other uses, see Peashooter (disambiguation).
Goo Peashooter is a premium plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that was introduced in the 7.0.1 update. He[1] shoots poison peas at zombies (every 1.35-1.5 seconds) that do damage over time, as well as slowing them (by 2%). His poison can stack and do more damage to the zombies as more stacks of it are applied.
Goo Peashooter requires 250 seed packets to unlock him for free.
In Chinese version, Goo Peashooter deals 10 direct damage, and 50 poison damage per stack. Its poison effect can stack up to 5 times.
Origins
Like most other peashooting plants, he is based on the Pisum sativum, commonly known as the pea. His ability and being a peashooting plant is also partially based on Toxic Pea from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.
His Almanac entry points out how his name is a play on the words "goopy shooter," since Goo Peashooter shoots goop at zombies.'

He's totally insane to other plants, but he believes it's cool. You're asking? He does it for the laughs. |

Strategies
Magnet-shroom and Goo Peashooter shares a lot of similarities in their armor penetration. Magnet-shroom is more preferred in Neon Mixtape Tour because of the groups of Buckethead Zombie and Punk Zombie. However, Goo Peashooter will find more use in Modern Day since Newspaper Zombies could be dangerous without them. Nonetheless, they are excellent support plants and should be used with other plants.
Direct damage-wise, Goo Peashooter is not that impressive. For doing direct damage, there are much better options such as Repeater, Melon-pult, and Laser Bean, as they either do more damage for a similar cost or have better effects.
However, one good aspect of this plant is that Goo Peashooter will also poison the target. As long as he is there, he can do so indefinitely, and the effect stacks, culminating in his poison damage easily eliminating them without having to destroy their headwear items.
Since he fires a solid projectile, Jester Zombie can return it, and Shield Zombie blocks it easily, although he can still poison and kill the Excavator Zombie, whereas Healers and Medusas will still take his direct damage. The poison will also take time to fully damage the target, meaning faster zombies such as Zombie Chicken and Blastronaut Zombie will easily speed past him before the poison can kill them. He is also a poor choice in later Endless Zone levels and levels that spawn huge waves of zombies as Goo Peashooter is single target. In terms of stalling, Goo Peashooter isn't that good either, and is outclassed by specialists like Snow Pea or Shadow Peashooter, which fare better against crowds and still form formidable synergies with the right support. Goo Peashooter's awkward niche makes it difficult for him to work with other plants, leaving him without a proper place to shine.
Goo Peashooter's Plant Food effect is mostly useful for poisoning zombies and can be abused with Blover to destroy zombies knocked airborne. As it takes Plant Food to activate, it isn't as sustainable unless there's a lot to begin with, or he is somehow boosted.
