Dr. Spacetime is a galactic super-rare zombie card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the
Sneaky class. He costs 2
to play and has 1
/5
. He does not have any traits, and his ability reduces the cost of all Conjured zombie cards by 1
. His ability is to conjure a random zombie card from the Galactic Gardens set every time he does damage to the plant hero. This cost reduction stacks with each Dr. Spacetime on the field and persists until all Dr. Spacetimes are removed from the field. His closest plant counterpart is Captain Cucumber.
Origins
He is based on The Doctor, the title character of the British science-fiction series Doctor Who
The wardrobe he is in is a reference to The Doctor's TARDIS (when disguised as a dresser by the chameleon circuit), while his screwdriver is a reference to The Doctor's sonic screwdriver.
The scarf hanging on the left (right from the player's view) wardrobe door may be a reference to the Fourth Doctor from the aforementioned series, who wears a scarf. He also wears a bow tie, a staple of the Second and Eleventh Doctors' respective outfits.
Him wearing Glasses in his card image may be a reference to the Tenth Doctor who wore such item in episodes such as "Tooth and Claw."

Strategies
With
Dr. Spacetime has low strength for his cost. Still, his health is quite high, which means that he can usually survive turn 2 and can trade or beat 2-cost plants in most cases, and makes him somewhat of a control card as the plant hero is forced to spend resources for the next turns to prevent him from getting too much value from either; A: hitting them, resulting in a conjure, and B: reduce the cost of conjured cards, even if your deck is not built around it.
His main ability, while RNG, is very useful as not only does the Galactic Gardens card pool itself have high-quality zombie tricks, environments and minions, but all conjured cards will cost 1 less while the zombie is still alive and stacks whith each copy that would have been present. This is highly beneficial, as even the worst cards can become more flexible due to the reduced cost. This makes Dr. Spacetime a great passive card and that can apply late game pressure to the opponent due to the tempo value he can give you.
You can buff his damage through means in the likes of Zombot Drone Engineer, Smoke Bomb, and Graveyard to increase his strength. Additionally, card-gaining/conjuring zombies get benefited greatly due to him reducing the cost of their obtained cards. A notable example is Zombie Yeti: it can get a free boost from its own now-free Yeti Lunchbox directly on turn 3, allowing him to potentially survive a following exchange.
Against
Because of Dr. Spacetime's low strength, plant heroes can use it to charge their block meters due to the low damage. It may seem like a bad idea at first, but in decks directed towards quickly ending the game the plant can benefit from early damage with cards such as Split Pea, Wild Berry or Fire Peashooter. His high health may seem like another problem, but you can just avoid his lane or use plants capable of trading or with abilities such as Captain Cucumber, Corn Dog or Starch-Lord.
If you really need to stop him from conjuring any cards, you can either use any cards that reduce strength, or cards with the
Armored trait, since his health is too high to be easily countered on turn 2. For the former, Kernel-Pult, Water Balloons or Weed Whack do the trick. For the latter, Jugger-Nut is your best option early on.
When playing against Huge-Gigantacus or Impfinity, be careful on turn 3, as both can play Ice Moon or Moon Base Z respectively. The former freezes the plant you might have chosen to front Dr. Spacetime and the latter lets him hit you for more damage before combat, due to them giving him
Strikethrough and
Overshoot 3 respectively. Both cases can potentially result in the enemy gaining a conjure.
