From Plants vs. Zombies Wiki
Beam Me Up is an premium uncommon zombie trick card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the Brainy class. It costs 2 to play, and its ability makes a Space Cadet on a selected lane. Its closest plant counterpart is Nut Signal.
Origins
Its name is a reference to the infamously misquoted phrase "Beam me up, Scotty" from the science fiction TV show, Star Trek, which was, in reality, never said.

Strategies
With
Beam Me Up essentially allows you to play a 2/3 zombie, not unlike Teleport, in the tricks phase. Its low cost means the only option to deny it this early in the game would be Forget-Me-Nuts. It can be used to destroy setup plants, block powerful attacks or in general just clog the lane. As a worst case scenario, this can at least block a powerful attack from a plant with a lot of strength for a cheap price of 2 brains.
Since the Space Cadet is also a Science Zombie, it can be boosted by Zombot Drone Engineer or do bonus attacks with Gadget Scientist to make a powerful combo with bonus attacks and more power, although there are always better science cards to work with. The trick itself can also synergize with the abilities of Interdimensional Zombie, Paparazzi Zombie, Trickster, Mad Chemist and Trick-or-Treater. Professor Brainstorm can even boost Unlife of the Party, as it makes a zombie.
However, Beam Me Up does have some minor issues. As mentioned before, Forget-Me-Nuts can stop it dead in the earlier turns, while Brainana (empties the Zombie Hero's brain counter for a turn) and Dark Matter Dragonfruit (increases cost for all zombie tricks by 6) also exist later on. While Black-Eyed Pea and Sportacus do not stop you from playing it outright, they both have abilities that are made to deter tricks, and since the trick does nothing on its own beyond making a zombie, it guarantees their ability activation. Saving brains to play it may also be unwise at times, as the plant hero can exploit this opportunity to make an extremely punishing play, so unless you're sure they won't be able to do much, it's better to pressure them with strong zombies instead.
Against
This trick is difficult to combat, as it makes a zombie with above average stats as early as the second turn. And because it is a trick, there is no telling where it will be played. In addition, it is a science zombie, meaning Zombot Drone Engineer can boost its strength, which can be troubling early in the game. But usually, your opponent will either play it to take care of weak plants or attack you directly. Any plant with Team-Up can be played to protect your plants, good examples being Wall-Nut and Potato Mine.
Like with all dangerous zombie tricks, you can also play Black-Eyed Pea and/or Sportacus to deter your opponent from playing this.

Trivia
- Before update 1.2.11, if one looked at Space Cadet while viewing Beam Me Up's description, they could see that there was no dirt surrounding him. This was likely an oversight.
