Dialogue

(Crazy Dave appears)
Crazy Dave: Ever play a game called Whack-a-Zombie?
Crazy Dave: It's just like huntin' squirbos.
Crazy Dave: You know, those furry little rodents that dig holes in your lawn?
Crazy Dave: Yeah, just like that, but instead of squirbos, it's zombies.
Crazy Dave: And instead of a shovel, it's a mallet
Crazy Dave: And instead of ME, it's YOU!
(Crazy Dave leaves)

Beta Dialogue

This is the original dialogue used in the Bloom & Doom beta build (Version 0.1.1.1024).[1]

(Crazy Dave appears)
Crazy Dave: Get a good look through your almanac?
Crazy Dave: Yeah, there's all kinds of useful tidbits in there.
(Graves appear)
Crazy Dave: Uh oh... see those gravestones in your yard?
Crazy Dave: That means your lawn is about to be overrun by zombies.
Crazy Dave: Lucky for you, I'll lend you this hammer!
Crazy Dave: That'll help you take care of those zombies lickety split.
Crazy Dave: GO! SHOW 'EM YOU'RE A TIGER!!
(Crazy Dave leaves)

Difficulty

Strategies

  • Generally, whack zombies with the mallet by clicking on them or by tapping on them if you are using a touch-screen device. Some zombies are harder to kill than others.
  • Use sun to plant Grave Busters to destroy graves. Graves spawn frequently closer to the house after halfway through the level. Each grave carries a little treasure or two, so try to destroy as many as you can.
  • Use a Cherry Bomb if too many zombies come on the screen at the same time (maybe in the final wave). Potato Mines are not useful in this level, although they only cost 25 sun.
  • Get rid of all graves except the ones that are clustered together. Tapping around the cluster will get rid of most of the zombies.
  • Get rid of the graves closest to your house, giving you more time to destroy zombies before they eat the player's brain.
  • Spam clicking on a grave before one that is being eaten by a Grave Buster is not a bad idea, as zombies may come out of it, eating it.
    • Zombies will never spawn on the grave that is being consumed, though.

Trivia

  • Ice-shroom replaces Cherry Bomb in the non-mobile mini-game version.
  • Level 2-5, Level 1-1, Level 4-5, and Level 5-10 are the only levels in Adventure Mode where there are no Flag Zombies.
  • Whack-a-Zombie is a reference to Whack-a-Mole.
  • In the Java version, the level is played just like 2-4, because the mini-game doesn't exist in that version.
