Level 4-9

From Plants vs. Zombies Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Level 4-9 is the thirty-ninth level in Plants vs. Zombies, Plants vs Zombies: Journey to the West, and Plants vs Zombies: Great Wall Edition, it is the eighth Fog level and It is a regular level. When this level is finished, the Player obtains a note from the zombies.

Difficulty

  • There are only four columns visible for the player at the start of the level. It can be hard for the player to determine which lane zombies are spawning on at the beginning of the level.

Strategies

Strategy 1 :

  • Required plants:
  • Plant Sun-shrooms and Puff-shrooms for an easy defense at first.
  • Use the same strategy in Level 4-8, but use the Cattail to pop Balloon Zombies (if you bought it) instead of Cactus. Cattails are more efficient in Pool or Fog levels. Try to plant at least four Cattails in this level for it to be really easy.
  • Use Planterns or Blovers (if you do not have Cattail, as stated before) if you want to see through the fog. Just remember that seeing through the fog is a luxury, as it is not required.
  • Plant Tall-nuts on the Land Lanes so that Pogo Zombies cannot jump any higher.

Strategy 2 (Requires at least 7 Seed Slots):

  • Quickly plant one column of Sun-shrooms, start with the land lanes since they require less Sun.
  • Plant quickly four Puff-shrooms in the land lanes to defeat the first zombies.
  • When you have set up at least 5 Sun-shrooms, start planting Scaredy-shrooms in the land lanes to prevent the Conehead Zombies from eating the Defenses, If you don't have Scaredy-shroom you can sacrifice Puff-shrooms in order to defeat the coneheads.
  • Plant another column of Sun-shrooms when you have at least 3 Scaredy-shrooms. This is important because you also will use Blover to check the lawn periodically.
  • Plant 4 Scaredy-shrooms in the water.
  • Plant 2 Magnet-shrooms and place Pumpkins on them before the first flag to counter buckets and pogos, preferably in the land since most of the bucketheads will come in the pool.
  • Plant a Blover when Balloon Zombie comes or when you want to see the Lawn.
  • Plant a column of Fume-shrooms for more damage.
  • Plant two more Magnet-shrooms with Pumpkins to have more support.
  • If you want, you can even plant 2 more Magnet-shrooms with Pumpkins.
  • In the final wave use Blover to blow away the last Balloon Zombie and the fog. If you have 9 Seed Slots then use an Ice-shroom or Doom-shroom to top off.
