The Battle Chest is a game mode in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. It can be accessed in all of the free-roam regions, via a chest with a red and blue glove on top, that is marked on the map. The host of the Battle Chest is Bingo-Bongo for the plants and Peg Legpuller for the zombies.

Overview

This mode has 5 different challenges per region, which differ depending on the region and what side the player is on. The mode is essentially a way to play multiplayer modes while still in a region, as each challenge is a multiplayer match against AI, although special gimmicks or mechanics may be in play, with some of them even having bosses. The reward for completion is a bunch of coins and the local currency of the region, with the amount listed on the challenge screen, as well as a medal on the first completion. There is also a bonus challenge in each match, with 3,000-10,000 coins and 10 local currencies being rewarded for completing it. The matches are ranked from Casual to Crazy difficulty (2 Matches that are Normal difficulty, 1 match for the rest), although this does not show the match's actual difficulty, as they may be harder or easier than what is expected.

Trivia

  • The areas the Battle Chests are in are all multiplayer maps, which makes sense due to them being multiplayer matches.
  • The Battle Chest in the Zombie version of Town Center is the only one to be in the location you first spawn in.
  • The Battle Chests in the Plant version of Town Center and Mount Steep are the only ones to not be in the location of the home base.
    • Coincidentally, these are the two Plant Regions.
