Oak

Oak is a playable plant class in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville as an alternate form for the Acorn. He is a Defend class who specializes in explosive damage and attacks, via through his "Wood Grief" weapon, or through his manually detonatable Super Sap Trap. It’s zombie counterpart is the Space Station.

He is also capable of carrying up to three Acorn Passengers which act as mounted turrets. Acorn Passengers take reduced damage from all sources while riding an Oak. Said Acorn Passengers can also heal the Oak, but not more than once at a time per Acorn.

Oaks intimidate and provide a lot of explosive firepower to defend an area. They just need to be careful because they are a large target.

Oak's primary weapon is named Wood Grief, it is an explosive projectile that deals 40 impact damage (16 splash) at a slow rate of fire. It can only be fired ten times before needing to reload.

	Refreshing Revive		● 1
	Faster refresh time for all abilities by reviving an ally. Reduces ability cooldown by 5x for 2 seconds (10 seconds total) when a teammate is revived.

	Rough Patch		● 1
	Spawn with more health after suffering multiple vanquishes in a row. After dying three times in a row, spawn with the maximum amount of overhealth for the currently used class after respawning or being revived.

	Log Jam		● 1
	Cover larger area with Roll for Damage. Roll for Damage's log is 50% wider and is twice as fast.

	Molasses		● 2
	Slow enemies who are near Super Sap Trap. Enemies near Super Sap Trap and Sap Trap are slowed down by 60%.

	Knock enemy away when hit by Roll for Damage ability. Enemies hit by Roll for Damage are knocked 12m (39.37 ft) backwards and 10m (32.80 ft) upward.

	Best Defense		● 3
	Briefly reduce incoming damage by earning a critical vanquish. Can stack 3 times. Reduces incoming damage by 10% for 10 seconds upon vanquishing an enemy. Stacks up to 3 times for a total of 27.1% damage resistance.

	Little Friend		● 2
	Hold more Shell Shot and Wood Grief ammo. Treetop Turret overheats more slowly. Increases Shell Shot ammo to 56 rounds and Wood Grief ammo to 14 rounds.

	Health Regeneration		● 2
	Faster health regeneration. Doubles health regeneration rate.

	Health Regeneration Delay		● 2
	Reduced time between taking damage and when health regeneration activates. Reduces the time required to start health regeneration by half (4 seconds).

	Slap Back		● 2
	Knock enemies farther away with Acorn's Sap Trap. Sap Trap and Super Sap Trap knocks enemies 10m (32.80 ft) backwards and 10m (32.80 ft) upward.

	Critical Blow		● 3
	Faster refresh time for all abilities by earning a critical vanquish. Reduces ability cooldown by 5.5 seconds upon critically vanquishing an enemy.

	Quickdraw		● 3
	Gain ammo for Shell Shot weapon by using Acorn Dash ability. Adds 22 rounds to Shell Shot upon using the Acorn Dash ability.

	Fallback		● 3
	Move faster when at low health. Increases movement speed by 20% upon reaching 20% HP or below.

	Hardened		● 3
	Increased max health. Acorn has 25 more health points and the Oak has 75 more health.

	Speedy		● 3
	Move faster, except when sprinting. Increases walking speed by 12.9032%.

	Rewind		● 3
	Sap Trap refreshes faster if it doesn't deal any damage. Reduces the cooldown duration of Sap Trap to 1 second if it does not hit an enemy.

	Leveling Up		● 2
	Earn XP faster. Increases the amount of XP earned by 10%. Does not affect the XP Machine in Giddy Park.

	Party Supplies		● 3
	Heal yourself and the Oak at faster rate with Lumber Support. Heals yourself at a rate of 16.667 HP per 0.1 seconds for 0.8 seconds and the Oak at a rate of 40 HP per 0.1 seconds for 0.5 seconds, armor duration is increased by 4 seconds.

	Nutty Feedback		● 4
	Gain ammo for Shell Shot by dealing damage.

	Adrenaline Rush		● 3
	Move faster for a short time by earning a vanquish. Increases movement speed by 40% for 3 seconds upon vanquishing an enemy.

	Going Totally Nuts Earn 200 vanquishes as an Acorn.

	Natural Twenty Earn 20 multi-vanquishes using Roll for Damage as an Oak.

Strategies

With

When attacking Oak is like a siege character, he can take quite a beating and deals damage to camping and clustered zombies 40 damage per shot with his Wood Grief. However, his power and large size makes him a top priority target to the zombies, so if you want to play as Oak it would be recommended to stick near your team's Sunflowers or have several Acorn Passengers to ensure a Lumber Support when situations get sticky.

Speaking of sticky, Oak's Super Sap Trap is good way to defeat hordes of zombies, so the player should put down a Sap Trap where they know where hordes of zombies are going to be. This is very effective in Garden Ops.

Against

Tips & Tricks

Keep in mind that Super Sap Trap fires a destructible projectile. Using it in a cross-fire can lead to the destruction of the projectile, and, therefore, canceling the ability. A direct hit of the primary weapon of the Engineer is enough to destroy the projectile. Because of that, when dealing with distant enemies, try to lob the Super Sap Trap above the crossfire.
If you take a Acorn Passenger with you, try to be as protective as possible, given that his survival is directly linked with yours.
When dealing point-blank characters such as Super Brainz and Scientists, try to use Roll for Damage to gain a advantage in a fight. It's wise to use as a finisher, given that the opponent may try to run when his health reaches a critical level.
