A leaf may not make for the best shield around, but it's better than nothing!

Leaf Shield Weed is a Spawnable Weed in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. ​It is essentially a Pumpkin Weed that carries what appears to be a monstera leaf to protect itself, like a shield. It is the plant counterpart of the Newspaper Zombie but is tougher health-wise.

It has two attacks, Weed Whip, its melee attack, which deals 25 with the leaf intact and 15 damage otherwise and Seed Spit, its ranged attack, which deals 25 damage.

• Normal: 72 HP

The leaf can sustain 50 damage before being destroyed.

Strategy

With

This weed can be annoying, and even deadly to inexperienced players due to the fact that it deals increased damage when it has it's leaf intact, and is tough health-wise if you don't shoot at the head. Spawn this to get a tiny bit of capture or to aid teammates in Turf Takeover. This weed can be effective against inexperienced players, so use it against them.

Against

To kill this weed, you should hit the pumpkin on the weed's head to vanquish the weed faster than shooting at the shield and then the weed. Since shooting at the head does headshot damage, this weed is killed very quickly by experienced players.
