Cob Cannon is a colossal legendary plant card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the Solar class. He costs 6 to play and has 6/6.
He does not have any traits, and his ability gives zombies on his lane and the lanes adjacent to him -1/-1 when he is played, while his Team-Up Evolution ability instantly destroys a selected zombie. His closest zombie counterpart is Primordial Cheese Shover.
Origins
He is based on the plant in Plants vs. Zombies with the same name and appearance. However, based on the fact that his front wheels are smaller than his rear wheels, and that his corn cob points upwards rather than laying flat when idle, he resembles Corn Mortar, a plant in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, more than the original Cob Cannon.
His Evolution ability references his status of upgrade plant in Plants vs. Zombies, where he was only plantable on top of two adjacent Kernel-pults on the same lane. Him specifically requiring a Team-Up plant may be so because Kernel-Pult in this game also has Team-Up, the trait Cob Cannon can Evolve on. And finally, his ability to destroy a zombie is a reference to how he is often used as an instant kill.
His description is a reference to the quote, "One team, one dream," which comes from the book One Team One Dream: The Story of the Greatest Team in History, a fact-based account of the 1997 Virginia baseball champions, the William Byrd Terriers. The full quote in the book is, "This group of individuals is going to come together as one team, with one dream. One team, one dream."

Strategies
With
Cob Cannon has average stats for his cost, being roughly on par with Smashing Pumpkin and Three-Headed Chomper, but comes with powerful abilities that makes him a worthy addition to any Solar deck built with him in mind.
His normal ability allows you to weaken a group of zombies here and next door, or even destroy zombies with 1, meaning he can be used to deal with the aquatic lane, especially for Solar Flare and Chompzilla, who lack means to efficiently tackle such threats. The stat reduction also means he can be used alongside cards such as Whack-a-Zombie, Chomper, and Toadstool.
His Evolution ability, which destroys a selected non-Gravestone zombie, allows you to expand your field control dramatically as it's essentially a Squash stapled to a 6/6 plant that can also destroy Untrickable zombies and open up a lane. To activate his Evolution ability, you need a Team-Up plant, which should not be much of an issue as the Solar class has several Team-Up cards such as Sunflower, Solar Winds (which make Sunflowers), Twin Sunflower and Lil' Buddy, not to mention those from other classes such as Puff-Shroom (Solar Flare), Torchwood (Chompzilla), and Wall-Nut (Wall-Knight) exclusive to certain heroes. Certain Team-Up plants can survive until you get to play Cob Cannon, but some others can allow you to Evolve Cob Cannon on turn 6 immediately as they are free.
If you are playing as Rose or Wall-Knight, you can take this one step further and actually get Cob Cannon on the aquatic lane by playing him on a Team-Up plant with Amphibious such as Laser Cattail, Admiral Navy Bean, and Water Chestnut, or give a Team-Up plant said trait via Lily Pad. However, doing so might be a waste of resources and reduces his normal ability's effective range.
If you are playing as Rose, you can replay him with Rescue Radish and another team-up plant to reset his stats and reactivate his abilities. However, unless you want to reuse his stat reduction ability or need to eliminate another Untrickable target, it would be better to use Squash since it costs less and can be played immediately.
Against
His two abilities can't be completely prevented, but you can spread out your zombies across the field to reduce his normal ability's effectiveness and make all zombies equally threatening to put your opponent in a dilemma. You can also play Gravestone zombies to negate both of his abilities, but this is risky against Wall-Knight due to his access to anti-Gravestone cards. Similarly, if you do not want him to easily activate his Evolution ability, do not leave any of their Team-Up plants untouched if they try to set up, but remember even that is limited, as each Solar hero has access to Lil' Buddy, and you can't do much if they have both at hand.
As for Cob Cannon himself, any powerhouse, instant-kill trick or Deadly zombies will do. However, remember that his normal ability weakens your zombies' strength, so Crazy heroes may suffer a bit more. And since Cob Cannon is played after the Zombies Play phase, without aid of cards that make other zombies in the tricks phase you'll always end up with a lane open, and if your zombies are weak enough, his When Played ability can do even more.
While Bouncing Cob Cannon tends to be a valid strategy, this might not always be viable unless you would win by doing so. If your opponent survives the turn, they can replay Cob Cannon to weaken your zombies again, and should they have any additional Team-Up plants at hand, they can even re-activate his Evolution ability to destroy another zombie without you being able to react.

Trivia
- Prior to update 1.24.6, Cob Cannon's targeting message was bugged. Instead of displaying a proper short description, it instead displayed "!#Cob Cannon_Targeting#!".
- Prior to update 1.24.6, he and Gatling Pea did not have the legendary shine effect.
- He is the only Evolution card that requires a fighter with a specified trait in order to activate his Evolution ability. Other Evolution cards require either any fighter in general, or a fighter within a specified tribe.
- There is currently a glitch which happens when Reincarnation transforms from Cob Cannon into any other plant. When it happens, Cob Cannon proceeds to launch butter at the newly transformed card, as if Reincarnation was an entity of her own.
