Weenie Beanie is a basic common plant card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the
Smarty class. Two of them can also be obtained as cards by Bean Counter.
It costs 1
to play and has 1
/1
. It does not have any traits or abilities.
It is the basic plant of the Smarty class. Its zombie equivalent is Imp.
Origins
He is based on a bean, a common name for large seeds of several genera of the flowering plant family Fabaceae.
His name may be a combination of "weenie," referring to His size and description, and "beanie," an alteration of the word "bean" made to rhyme with "weenie." It could also be a reference to a fast food restaurant with a similar name, or a dish with a similar name.
His description may be a reference to the phrase, "I'm not short, I'm just vertically challenged."

Strategies
With
Considering the average statline for 1
cards such as Mars Flytrap is 2
/2
, it is easy to see why a 1
1
/1
like Weenie Beanie should be removed from your deck as quickly as possible. Its stats mean that it will trade very poorly with the vast majority of zombies, and doing 1 damage to the Zombie Hero will charge their Super-Block Meter and give them free Superpowers much faster than it will reduce their health to 0. There aren't any Common or Uncommon Bean synergy cards, either, and by the time you get Admiral Navy Bean you will have enough good Uncommon cards like Mars Flytrap and Primal Peashooter to make Weenie Beanie irrelevant.
It is one of the few cheap Beans available to Nightcap, which means it is technically usable in his Planet of the Grapes cycle decks, since activating Admiral Navy Bean and drawing a card for 1
can occasionally be worth it in a deck like that. However, Weenie Beanie doesn't actually solve the main issues with Planet of the Grapes, which is that it is easy to replace with a Zombie Environment, and decks that rely on it can struggle if Planet of the Grapes isn't drawn. It is also utterly outclassed by Lima-Pleurodon and Cosmic Bean in this role, and the latter is already mediocre in cycle decks due to its stats. Other heroes wouldn't even consider running it, as they have better cheap Beans and benefit a lot less from a single activation of Admiral Navy Bean.
Against
If Weenie Beanie is on the field, it is almost always best to keep it there, as it will clog a lane and charge your Super-Block Meter without doing much damage. There is an argument for getting rid of it before turn 4 in case they play Jelly Bean, though. If you do want to remove it, don't waste a card like Bungee Plumber, as you could play a zombie in that lane and get a better trade instead.

Trivia
- In the second set of announcements in the news, there is an announcement saying that Weenie Beanie had appeared in hundreds of matches between Taco and Ultimate league players in the past month. It then jokes about if Weenie Beanie is too powerful.
- Both it and Ra Zombie are also mentioned in the special thanks in the credits when mentioning the plants and zombies, most likely due to its meme-worthy status in the community.
