From Plants vs. Zombies Wiki
Tricorn is a colossal rare plant card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the Smarty class. It costs 6 to play and has 2/6.
It does not have traits, and its ability allows it to attack on the lane it is on and the lanes adjacent to it per attack similar to the Splash Damage trait, while its Plant Evolution ability gives it +2.
However, unlike Splash Damage, Tricorn's adjacent shots do damage to the zombie hero.
Origins
It is based on an acorn, the nut of the oaks and their close relatives, and a tricorn, a type of hat where three sides of the brim were turned up (cocked) and either pinned, laced or buttoned in place to form a triangle around the crown, as seen by its cap.
Its name is a portmanteau of "tricorn," referring to the shape of its cupule, and "acorn," the real-life plant it is based on. It also incorporates "tri-," referring to its ability to attack on three lanes at once.
Its description and appearance are based on George Washington, the 1st president of the United States of America.

Strategies
With
Tricorn, by itself, functions as a more powerful Threepeater, boasting +1/+1 for +1 compared to it. It can be used as an amazing finisher in budget Freeze or tempo decks, and each hero has their effective way to maximize its power:
- Green Shadow, if not running a Pea deck, can use Tricorn in place of Gatling Pea. She can use stat-boosting or bonus attack cards like Fertilize/Pea Patch and Plant Food. She can also deter enemy tricks with Umbrella Leaf, making Tricorn difficult to remove.
- Nightcap is able to boost its strength, and he has access to Puff-Shroom, so Tricorn's Evolution does not require prior setup. His damaging tricks can also be used to remove zombies.
- Citron and Beta-Carrotina can use Pecanolith to take advantage of its high health, allowing it to do much more damage at the cost of it losing strength as it takes hits. They also have Pumpkin Shell for Evolution. Additionally, Tricorn is an option for Nut synergy from Smackadamia and Mirror-Nut.
- Rose can use ramping cards to play Tricorn earlier, and can use Lil' Buddy much like Puff-Shroom in that it is free. She can additionally destroy zombies threatening Tricorn with various tricks.
Tricorn, due to its ability, can easily become the target of enemy removal. Tricorn is vulnerable to Rolling Stone if unevolved, and Rocket Science if it has Evolved. Other removal cards like Locust Swarm, Squirrel Herder, and Deadly post a threat to it too, so it shouldn't be your only big threat on board.
Against
Tricorn should not be taken lightly due to its high health and potentially devastating abilities, and everything should be done to dispose of it as soon as possible. When you are facing this plant when it is not Evolved, you can take advantage of its low strength and immediately destroy it using Rolling Stone, Weed Spray, or Celestial Custodian.
If it Evolves or gets out of hand from stat-boosting abilities, a Bouncing card can be played to reset Tricorn's stats, as well as its Evolution ability.

Trivia
- When Tricorn attacks, the number of lanes it attacks on depends on the current health of the zombie hero. For example, if the zombie hero has 4 health and Tricorn has Evolved (assuming Tricorn's base strength has not been altered), Tricorn will only attack on one lane as that alone is enough to defeat the zombie hero.
- Tricorn will also only attack on lanes where it can directly hurt the zombie hero; lanes occupied by zombies are ignored.
- In the Brazilian version, its description ""Se os zumbinhos aparecerem vão levar porrada." - Inácio Abóbora da Silva" is a reference to Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva, a former president of Brazil with his phrase "Se os coxinhas aparecerem vão levar porrada." In this case, "Coxinhas" was replaced for "Zumbinhos", the Brazilian translation for Imps. The translation of the description says: ""If the imps come, they will be beaten." Inácio Pumpkin da Silva".
