There three almanacs are books containing data on all the plants the player owns and all the zombies that the player has encountered in Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition. There are three types of almanacs in total in this game, those being the Suburban Almanac, the Creativity Almanac, and the Journey to the West Almanac, each featuring its own respective plants and zombies.
The Suburban Almanac is obtained after beating Level 2-4 in Adventure Mode for the first time. The Creativity Almanac is unlocked by default upon entering the Creativity Mode. The Journey to the West Almanac is unlocked by beating Level 5-10, in which the player also unlocks Journey to the West levels gamemode at the same time.
