Yellow Brows Gargantuar (黄眉大王僵尸; pinyin: Huáng Méi Dàwáng Jiāngshī) was a zombie that first appeared in Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition, later on ported to Plants vs. Zombies: Great Wall Edition, and even later on ported to Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition. He served as the boss of the chapter Subdue the Yellow-Browed Monster.

He would enter the lawn with his cloud on the first column from the side of the zombies, being immune to any damage, afterwards summoning various zombies several times by wagging his arm with the club, after which he would exit the lawn and storm into a random lane (in the first column from the side of the zombies yet again), making him vulnerable to any damage in this state, then perform a random attack while also standing still for several seconds after the attack's performance, and lastly jump from the lane he was on and enter back into the lawn with his cloud once again, repeating this entire process all over again until defeated. He had various different abilities and attacks:

• Summoning a sack on his lane, which would spin while travelling forward in its lane, destroying every plant ahead of it all the way to the lawn mower, unless the player defeats the bag by dealing very high damage or using an insta-use plant. It would destroy lawn mowers in advance if it happened to reach that far, except in Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition.
• Throwing a golden cymbal to a random spot onto the player's defense to capture and crush plants in a 2x2 area. This attack does not occur in Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition.
• Summoning a fire ball on a random spot in the back of the defense that would slowly descend on its tile before exploding and destroying all plants in a 3x3 area. This ability can be countered by using an Ice-shroom before the fire ball's landing on the tile. This attack also does not occur in Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition.
• An attack that occurs only after reaching his second phase once his eyes turn red, is to summon three graves on the column ahead of him in the three middle lanes of the lawn, which after a few seconds would summon three servant Imps with a saturn peach on their golden plates, tossing them onto his mouth, each peach restoring a considerate amount of his health. This attack can occur right after him performing an attack rather than being an attack entirely for the moment he storms into a lane. Additionally, this attack can be countered by using Grave Busters on the graves before they summon the servant Imps, reducing the amount of peaches tossed onto his mouth, making him heal less health.

If there was any plants a tile ahead of him while he was off his cloud, he would crush them with his wolf's teeth club.

After reaching half of his HP, he would then turn red-eyed, starting to perform attacks at twice the speed rate and giving the player less time to damage him in his non-cloud state. The zombies he summoned also depended on how much health he had, summoning more powerful zombies as he lost health. The zombies he could spawn included Zombie, Conehead Zombie (except in Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition), Buckethead Zombie, Newspaper Zombie, Screen Door Zombie, Dancing Zombie, Jack-in-the-Box Zombie and Ladder Zombie.

Origins

This zombie is based on Yellow Brows Great King from the Journey to the West novel, a sounding stone servant that turned into a demon lord that stole the human sack, the golden cymbals, and transformed his sounding stone into a wolf's teeth club, before proceeding to impersonate Buddha within the Leiyin Temple and fight for his freedom.
