They said some things just don't go together. Oil and Water. Ice and Fire. Zombies and Brainz. But Dr. Zomboss always manages to make the impossible possible. Just look at all the latest cutting edge widgets and gadgets he manages to cram into one mech. A twin turbo V-Imp motor. A 6 cornu sound system. An independent plant crushing 4 wheel suspension. He definitely blew through his entire year's food budget on this one. This would explain why his minions are always out looking for Brainz.

Zombot Hot-Rodicus is the boss of The Zombosseum II Thymed Event in Plants vs. Zombies 2. It is encountered in Level 15 of the event.

In Arena, defeating the Hot-Rodicus will award 10000 points, increasing by 10000 points each time the Hot-Rodicus is defeated. Higher leagues will increase a multiplier for points scored, with a maximum of 5x in Jade league.

Overview

The Zombot Hot-Rodicus approximately absorbs 22000 damage per shot, and its appearance changes upon absorbing 5500 and 11000 damage per shot before dying at 22000 damage per shot.

Attacks

The Zombot Hot-Rodicus randomly performs one of the following actions:

• It will randomly shoot the vase at random tiles. If it destroys a plant, it'll spawn a Roman Imp.
• The Imps will raise their hobby horses, the lantern lights up briefly, and Dr. Zomboss raises his hands with a purple aura around him. This action causes a wave of two Roman Shield Zombies to spawn in each lane.
• When it drives back slowly, it will proceed to charge quickly, destroying any plants and zombies in two rows before stopping near the lawn mowers and jumping back. This can be blocked or interrupted by using Plant Food on any plants such as Threepeater or any instant-use plants, such as Cherry Bomb.

Trivia

• Zombot Hot-Rodicus's appearance is notably unique compared to previous spider-like Zombots as it is the first spider-like Zombot not to follow the standard spider-like Zombot design (not having an eye and unique four-legged design similar to a horse.)
  • Due to not having an eye, Zombot Hot-Rodicus utilizes its vase attack by opening a part of its cockpit.
• Zombot Hot-Rodius's appearance and design bear a resemblance to the chariot seen in ancient Rome.
• Due to Thymed Events using their own outro ("You Won!" screen), the Zombot Hot-Rodicus's exit animation goes completely unused.
• This is the second Zombot in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that cannot be battled in Adventure Mode. The first one being Zombot Catastro-liope.
• The Hot-Rodicus has no intro dialogue, unlike most other zombots. An intro is coded in to be played, but nothing is.
