Romeward Bound - Level 5
Romeward Bound - Level 5 is the fifth level of the Roamin' Romans and Romeward Bound events in Penny's Pursuit. It takes place in Wild West, and is very similar to Wild West - Day 23. It has new objectives and zombie swaps, similar to other Penny's Pursuit levels.
Difficulty
This level is almost identical to its original counterpart. Just like with the previous level, the difficulty swaps don't really matter here since they're purely cosmetic. Any strategies that worked in the original should work here.
Difficulty Swaps
In this Penny's Pursuit level, the zombie swaps are the same in each difficulty.
Bonus Objectives
In Penny's Pursuit, levels have bonus objectives that can be completed to level up Penny Perks.
Mild Bonus Objective
- Don't lose more than 5 plants
Spicy Bonus Objectives
- Don't let the zombies trample the flowers
- Don't lose more than 5 plants
Extra Hot Bonus Objectives
- Don't let the zombies trample the flowers
- Don't lose more than 5 plants
Waves
- The small number next to the zombie icon means that zombie will always appear in that lane, with 1 being the topmost lane and 5 being the bottommost lane.

Strategy
Strategy 1:
- Welcome to a level where Aloe proves its worth!
- Select Sun Bank perk beforehand.
- Plants needed:
(If you have
, you can use it, but replace Primal Sunflower with Moonflower.)
- And the supporter of this strategy...
!
- Start by planting 5 Primal Sunflowers (preferably not at the minecarts) at C3 & 4. Use Chard Guards and Aloes to stall the first few zombies. (Plant Aloe at C5 and Chard Guard at C6. One column of Chard Guards is enough.)
- For Moonflowers, plant them at C1R2,3, C3R2 and C4R4. Fill the remaining spaces with Shadow Peashooters, prioritising the minecarts first.
- Once you amassed at least 500 sun, start planting Spikerocks at C8 first, before planting Laser Bean at C2 minecart then the entire C1.
- For the middlegame, use your Wall-nut first aid to aid any Chard Guards without leaves. However, since Chard Guard has a long recharge time, Aloe can heal the remaining Chard Guards by itself.
- Use 1 Plant Food on Primal Sunflower early in the game. Then use the rest on Aloe (if the surrounding Chard Guards are without leaves) or on Spikerock (if there is one particular problematic column). Don't conserve your Plant Food, as plant food is aplenty in this level, even at the hardest difficulty.
- Once enough sun is accumulated in the later part of the game, the player can consider planting more Spikerocks on the other columns before the flowers.
- Watch in amazement as you complete this level at its hardest difficulty, along with satisfying its 2 bonus objectives with ease, as the extra-tough zombies try in vain to reach your Aloe-fortified lawn.
