Tactical Cuke is a recurring character within the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. The Tactical Cuke is similar to Doom-shroom, causing a massive explosion when used, but the explosion is bigger than even Doom-shroom's, destroying any zombie in the explosion's path. Because of this power, the Tactical Cuke has been used as a weapon by the Plants, being called the ultimate Plant based weapon by Agent Corn.
As of Plants vs. Zombies 3, the Tactical Cuke has appeared in five games.
Origins
His name is a portmanteau of "tactical nuke," which is short for "tactical nuclear weapon," and "cuke," which is short for "cucumber."
History
Plants vs. Zombies 2 (Chinese version) (China only)

The first appearance of the Tactical Cuke is in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 as a Power Up. When used, the Tactical Cuke will land on the lawn and explode, dealing 7,200 damage to every zombie on-screen, as well as 1,800 to any bosses. The cost of a Tactical Cuke depends on how many have been used, starting at 15 diamonds and increasing by 10, 20, 30, etc., for every Cuke used.
Tactical Cuke is also in the original Plants vs. Zombies 2's files, but has never been used. Oddly enough, Use Your Brainz EDU, a "lite" version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, has Tactical Cuke in the banner, but isn't used there either.
Plants vs. Zombies: All Stars (China only) (Archived content)
Tactical Cuke next appeared in now defunct Chinese-exclusive turn-based spin-off Plants vs. Zombies: All Stars as a power up, that dealt huge damage to all zombies on screen. It costed real money or could be used for free if player had a VIP account. It was removed from the game in an update before servers' shut down.
Garden Warfare series

Tactical Cuke next appears in the Garden Warfare series with a redesign. In both games, the Tactical Cuke is used as a weapon by the plants to attack zombies. In Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the final objective of Main Street is to either defend the Tactical Cuke or stop the Cuke from launching, depending on what side the player is on. According to load description, the Cuke is set to launch to Zomboss Mountain.
In Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, the Cuke is instead made and used by the player and Agent Corn, helping him obtain Nuke Juice from the Z-Tech Factory to make a smaller version of the Cuke. During the Zero Bark Thirty quest, the player must protect Agent Corn as he uses the mini Tactical Cuke to attack the zombie's base in the Backyard Battleground. Despite the explosion appearing quite big, the zombie base doesn't seem damaged in the slightest when the quest is over.
A bigger version of the Tactical Cuke appears as a Backyard item, being able to be placed by the docks.
Plants vs. Zombies Heroes

The latest appearance of the Tactical Cuke is in the turn-based mobile card game Plants vs. Zombies Heroes as a Galactic Super-Rare Fruit Trick in the 
Solar class.
He costs 6
to use and when used, he will destroy every plant and zombie on the Ground lanes in a massive explosion. Environments are left unaffected.

Trivia
- As shown in The Art of Plants vs. Zombies, the Tactical Cuke that appears in the Garden Warfare games was originally going to have the same design as the Tactical Cuke in the Chinese games.
- Tactical Cuke had planned appearances in both Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: All Stars, being scrapped in both games.
- Tactical Cuke is the first scrapped Plants vs. Zombies 2 plant to be brought into the Chinese version, the second being Icy Currant.
