Spikeweed Seeds!
Spikeweed Seeds was a limited-time Epic Quest in Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 5.9.1 update. The series of levels showcased Spikeweed. When the player completed 10 steps, they would have gotten 100 Spikeweed Seeds from a Pirate Seas Piñata. It was unlocked when the player obtained Spikeweed and after beating Pirate Seas - Day 8. It lasted from April 4, 2017 to April 12, 2017.
Step 1
This level was a modified version of Pirate Seas - Day 14. Pirate Captain Zombie was omitted from this level. Also, instead of being a Last Stand level, this level was a Locked and Loaded level. Spikeweeds were also pre-placed on the fifth column.
- The small number next to the zombie icon means that zombie will always appear in that lane, with 1 being the topmost lane and 5 being the bottommost lane.
Strategies
Strategy 1
- Created by SuperGaming101
- Plant two columns of Sunflowers at the back. No need to stall the first few zombies, as the preplaced Spikeweeds already will kill them.
- Plant your Wall-nuts in column 4 in the squares with no planks, while also planting two lanes of Repeaters in column 3 and 4. Use Iceberg Lettuce to stall if you have to.
- Plant Spikeweeds on all other empty columns. You should use your Plant Food on your Repeaters when things get out of hand.
Strategy 2
- Created by MartinUWH
Similar to Strategy 1, but puts the higher value Repeaters at the back of the lanes. Executed with Step 1 (non "leveled-up") plants.
- Keep the Iceberg Lettuce permanently active, as it has no cost. This is especially important because a Level 1 Spikeweed will not kill a Basic Zombie, so you need to stall them until you can get either Wall-nuts or Repeaters in place.
- Plant Sunflowers in Columns 2 and 3.
- Plant Wall-nuts in Column 4. Ensure that you have placed Wall-nuts in the top and bottom rows prior to the appearance of Swashbuckler Zombie and Seagull Zombie.
- Plant Repeaters in Column 1.
- Plant Spikeweeds on all planks.
- As the opportunity present itself, dig up the Sunflowers in Column 2 and replace them with Repeaters. Use Plant Food on the Repeaters when the zombies become too numerous.
Step 2
This level was a modified version of Dark Ages - Night 8. Hypno-shroom was replaced with Spikeweed.
Strategies
Strategy 1

- Plant two columns of Sun-shroom at the back. Use Grave Buster to get rid of graves, prioritising those to the left of (and including) Column 5, and those that contain sun.
- Keep Sun Bean permanently active.
- Plant Wall-nuts on Column 5 whenever they become available, and Fume-shrooms on Columns 3 and 4.
- Plant Spikeweeds on all other empty columns. Use Plant Food on your Fume-shrooms if you have to. You may also dig up the Sun-shrooms on Column 2 for Fume-shrooms.
Step 3
This level was a modified version of Ancient Egypt - Day 20. Spikeweed was pre-selected.
Strategies
Strategy 1

- Plant a column of Primal Sunflowers. Plant Iceberg Lettuce in front of the Sunflower the first zombie appears in front of. If there is no Sunflower on the lane, plant it in the fifth column.
- Use any of the instant kills you bought on the first zombie. The best idea is Chili Bean, as he only costs 50 sun and doesn't take time to arm.
- Do the same, but with another instant kill, with Primal Potato Mine being the best idea. Keep using Iceberg Lettuce on zombies when you can. Keep doing this until two zombies come instead of one.
- Plant Winter Melon in the second column. Keep protecting the Sunflowers with your instant kills.
- Plant another lane of Winter Melon in the third column.
Strategy 2
- Created by VeXJL
- Start by planting a column of Twin Sunflowers. This will help you obtain sun for Repeaters.
- When a Wall-nut becomes available, immediately put it down. This will cut down on the time it takes for Wall-nut to recharge. Place Wall-nuts 2 tiles in front of each Sunflower.
- Stall the first few zombies with Iceberg Lettuce.
- After freezing each zombie, place a Repeater about 1.5 tiles away from each zombie. This will ensure that the level progresses as slowly as possible. The Repeaters should be in front of the Sunflowers.
- After placing the Repeaters in front of the Sunflowers, start placing Repeaters behind the Sunflowers and in the middle lane.
- Freeze the first Explorer Zombie. Try to make sure that Iceberg Lettuce freezes the correct zombies. If Plant Food is available, use it on an Iceberg Lettuce to ensure that the Explorer Zombies are frozen. Save at least one for the last flag.
- When you reach the final flag, use Plant Food on Iceberg Lettuce to freeze all zombies on screen. This will make sure that Explorer Zombies won't be able to destroy your plants and allow Repeaters to kill zombies.
Strategy 3
- Created by MartinUWH
- Build up Twin Sunflowers in the first and second columns.
- Plant a Spikeweed two spaces in front of each endangered plant, and plant instant kill plants, such as Chili Bean or Potato Mine, directly in front of each plant. Iceberg Lettuce is also OK, but primarily you want to use them on the Explorer Zombies.
- Build up Melon-pults behind the endangered plants.
- Plant Potato Mines in the middle lane until you have built up enough sun to fill it with Melon-pults.
Step 4
This level was a modified version of Frostbite Caves - Day 18. Spikeweeds were added into the level.
Strategies

- Plant a column of Bloomerang on column one.
- Plant a column of Citron on column two.
- Plant your Spikeweeds on column four, and around the ice floes.
Step 5
This level was a modified version of Modern Day - Day 4. Spikeweeds were pre-placed on the seventh column from the left.
Strategies
Strategy 1
- Created by SuperGaming101
- Plant two columns of Primal Sunflowers in the back. Do not worry about the Imps as they will die from the pre-placed Spikeweeds. When the Conehead Zombie comes, plant a Potato Mine or Primal Potato Mine, as he will survive the Spikeweeds.
- Plant a column of Coconut Cannons in column 3. Also, plant Primal Potato Mines and Potato Mines if you must.
- Plant a column of Spikerocks in front of the pre-placed Spikeweeds.
- Plant another column of Coconut Cannons in column 4, and plant Cherry Bomb in the middle of the zombies in the final wave.
Strategy 2
Created by VeXJL
- Start by planting Gold Bloom. This will start you with enough sun for a few Dusk Lobbers.
- Proceed with planting Dusk Lobbers and Moonflowers. Make sure that when you plant them, you are able to kill the first few Imps. Make sure that Moonflowers are on the second column while Dusk Lobbers are in the first and third columns.
- When the first Buckethead Zombie arrives, place a Magnet-shroom and proceed with planting Magnet-shrooms. Use Plant Food on Magnet-shroom if you get overwhelmed.
- Put Chard Guard down to halt the advancement of the zombie horde. Hurrikale can help while Chard Guard recharges.
- At the final flag, when the Gargantuar arrives, stall it with Hurrikale or Chard Guard. This will give the Dusk Lobbers enough time to kill it.
Step 6
This level was a modified version of Far Future - Day 16. Bug Bot Imps were removed from the level, but E.M.Peach and Bonk Choy were replaced by Spikeweed.
Strategies
Strategy 1
- Created by SuperGaming101
- Plant your power tiles in column 1. Plant your Infi-nuts in column 6, and plant your Citrons in column 1.
- Plant your Spikeweeds in front of your Infi-nuts.
- Use your Blovers when there is a lot of Jetpack Zombies. Plant your Citrons in every column behind the Infi-nuts.
- Use your Plant Food on any Citron in column 1, as almost every lane will be affected, rather than just one.
Step 7
This level was a modified version of Neon Mixtape Tour - Day 25. Spikeweed was pre-selected for the level.
Strategies

- Plant two columns of Primal Sunflower in column 1 and column 2. Use Iceberg Lettuce to stall the first few zombies, and then kill them with your instant kills, such as Potato Mine and Chili Bean.
- Plant two columns of Coconut Cannons in columns 3 and 4. Use your instant kills if necessary.
Step 8
This level was a modified version of Jurassic Marsh - Day 19. Spikeweed was also added to the level and Primal Wall-nut was replaced with Endurian.
Strategies
Strategy 1
:Created by SuperGaming101
- Plant a column of your Cold Snapdragon in the column behind the flowers. After this, plant a column of Cold Snapdragons behind them.
- Plant your Spikeweeds and Spikerocks in front of the flowers.
- Plant Endurians on the flowers.
- When the Jurassic Gargantuar appears, use Plant Food with Cold Snapdragon on him.
Strategy 2
- Created by MartinUWH
Pretty much the same as Strategy 1, except a column further forward.
- Plant a column of Cold Snapdragons on the flowers (Column 6).
- Plant Spikeweeds/Spikerocks in Column 8, and subsequently in Column 9 if possible.
- Build up a second column of Cold Snapdragons in Column 5.
- Plant the Endurians in Column 7.
- When the Jurassic Gargantuar appears, keep planting Spikeweed or Spikerock underneath him to stall him. Also, plant Cold Snapdragons in Column 7, rows 2 and 4. Finally use Plant Food on the foremost Cold Snapdragon in Row 3.
Step 9
This level was a modified version of Lost City - Day 19. Spikeweed was pre-selected for the level.
- The small number next to the zombie icon means that zombie will always appear in that lane, with 1 being the topmost lane and 5 being the bottommost lane.

- Plant one column of Sun-shrooms in the second column. Plant most of your plants on the Gold Tiles first. Use your instant kills such as Primal Potato Mine to get rid of the first few zombies. Plant your Spikeweeds at all columns from 7 to 9.
- Plant one column of Coconut Cannons in column 1. Use your stalling and instant kill plants if necessary, including Blover on Bug Zombies.
- Plant one more column of Sun-shrooms in the third column, and one more column of Coconut Cannons in the fourth column.
Step 10
This level was a modified version of Wild West - Day 22. The level was still a Locked and Loaded, but Repeater and Bloomerang were omitted in favor of Spikeweed and Potato Mine.
Strategies
You may want to stall the starting zombies with Iceberg Lettuces and Potato Mines, since your only offensive plant is Winter Melon. Use Spikeweeds to deal with the Zombie Chickens.
Strategy 1
- Created by SuperGaming101
- Plant Sunflowers in all empty spaces that's not on a minecart rail except for columns 8, 9, 5 and 6. Use Potato Mines to kill early zombies, and plant Spikeweeds on column 6 and 8. Plant Iceberg Lettuce and instant kills on the minecart on column 7.
- Plant Winter Melons on all minecarts except the one on column 7, and then on column 5. Start with the minecart on column one.
- Use at most two Plant Food on wave one, and then use all other Plant Foods you may have on the final wave.
