User blog:Sapfling/ULTIMATE Plant Almanac
THIS PAGE IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This list contains all plants from all PvZ games, their mint and secondary families, tribes and game from which they have originated. There are currently 446 plants.
Rules
- To be more specific, this page includes all plants from these games: OG, EE, Adv, Se, 2, 2Ch, O, GW1, GW2, BfN, AS, H, 3. GWe will be added as soon as there's a tad more info about plants.
- Unused, upcoming, fan-made and advertisment-only plants are forbidden from this list.
- If plant's characterisitcs has changed between games, both versions will be listed here. Newer ones have ~ at the end of their names (even newer have ~2 and so on).
- Families for plants from shooters are not considered from their abilities. Families for plants from CCG are mostly considered from their abilities and/or their way to attack, while their class is used only if everything else fails (heroes' method is opposite)
- Tribes are listed in alphabetical order.
- Costumes are not considered plants, sorry about that.
Families list
Description of each family. Fan-made decisions are written in itallic. Totals are counted based on main families only (if a plant's got two families listed, only the main will be counted). Last added - Beta-Carrotina

Tribes list
This section will be globally updated later.
Here are all plant tribes listed in alphabetical order. Fan-made ones are written in itallic.
Algae, Animal, Bamboo, Banana, Bean, Beet, Berry, Carrot, Citrus, Corn, Dragon, Gourd^, Flower, Flytrap, Fruit, Leafy, Mime, Mint, Nut, Object^^, Pea, Pepper, Pinecone, Root, Succulent^^^, Sweets, Tree, Weed
^Common family for melons, squashes and pumpkins is a gourd fanmily or Cucurbitaceae. Get your biology right, squash tribe!
^^If a plant has another tribe, it won't be an object. There are a lot of item-based plants in the franchise, y'know
^^^Succulent is a spiky plant that encapsulates water in its thorns. Most cactuses are succulent along with some other plants, such as Aloe. Therefore, to be more specific, I changed Cactus tribe to this one (note: Not all spiky plants are considered succulent, e.g. Homing Thistle).

Excluded list
These plants, despite appearing in the games, are excluded from the Almanac. Also explained why.
Original game
- Giant Wall-nut - just giant version.
- Backside Repeater and Peashooter from Vasebreaker - just backside versions.
- Sprout - not really a plant.
Endless Edition
- Strong Broccoli, Oak Archer, Laser Bean, Dandelion, Snapdragon and Bonk Choy - they are way too similar to their original counterparts.
Online
- Oxygen Algae and Sea Starfruit - too similar to their EE counterparts.
Garden Warfare 1
- Tallnut Battlement - it's not a separate plant, but rather an ability.
- Bamboo Shoot - too similar to Adv counterpart.
- Cariboom and Frankenshroom - their description says that this are just costumes (unlike Snow-shroom).
Garden Warfare 2
- Pumpkin Weed, Terracotta Weed, Leaf Shield Weed, Wood Shield Weed, Vase Weed, Porcelain Vase Weed, Halloweed and Feastivus Weed - this plants are just a bunch of Weeds with different equipment and in different costumes. There are three exceptions from this exclusion - Heal Weed, Flag Weed and Springenweed. First two are vastly different from the rest of the bunch, while third's almanac desription says "These special weeds hatch from eggs every Spring", which is far from trivial.
- Boo Choy, Peawitched Cannon, Elf Pea and Basket Choy - costumes of existing plants.
- Agent Corn, Agent Citron and Agent Rose - they are different characters, but not different plants.
- Crystal Guardian - this is not a plant by a long shot.
Battle for Neighborville
- Terracotta Wildflower - Wildflower with different equipment.
- Almost all Battle Leaders, Elusive Foes and Bounty Hunt plants - I will probably add them later, however I don't really know if these are different plants or simply costumed ones.
- Wild Bunch - a group of plants.
- Pops Cyclops and Brian - too similar to Dreadroot and Bitter Dill respectively.
