Convallaria Pharmacist (芦藜药师, lit. "芦藜^? Pharmacist"; pinyin: Lú^? Lí Yàoshī) is a plant from Steam Age in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2.

She lobs flowers at zombies that inflict a poison effect, dealing continuous percentage-based damage. The poisoning effect can be stacked, making poisoned zombies suffer more damage over time.

Origins

She is based on the lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis), a woodland flowering plant with sweetly scented, pendent, bell-shaped flowers borne in sprays in spring.

The fact that her ability can poison zombies is a reference to how real-life lily of the valleys are poisonous.

Convallaria Pharmacist has been learning medicine since she was young, hoping to save the wounded. But for zombies, death might be their only solution.

Strategies

Convallaria Pharmacist is a very powerful plant as she can poison zombies, doing high damage. She is especially useful against Gargantuars. However, she is not very useful against large groups of zombies, as she can only attack one zombie at a time without upgrading. In these cases, combine her with plants that can deal area damage, such as Snapdragon or Winter Melon.

Trivia

• Weirdly, her puzzle piece sprites and sprites when unlocked from a chest (for both the plant itself and her costume) both show her with a potion from her level 5 ability loaded.
• The meaning of her Chinese name "芦藜" is unknown. She is only referred to as "Convallaria Chemist" in her codename.
• She reuses Primal Rafflesia's puddle sprite. However, it is recolored.
• Her Level 3 upgrade's name "绝命毒师" is likely a reference to the Chinese translation of Breaking Bad.
• Her regular projectile and Plant Food ability both re-use sounds from Cabbage-pult.
• Her secondary costume's icon and puzzle piece both show completely pink hearts on the letter, while in-game said hearts are partially white.
• Lily of Fairy, Convallaria Pharmacist's Super Costume, was originally revealed with a different design that changed far less of her base appearance. She was later redesigned due to complaints on her not being different enough for a Super Costume.
